ABOUT
Carla Delaney, Writer/ Producer/ Actress of Voices, is a Pittsburgh native. She attended Point Park University, where she studied musical theater. Carla learned she had a knack for impersonation when she was cast in The CLO’s Cabaret at Theater Square production of “Forbidden Broadway”. Every night, the cast would sing and dance as legendary greats like Liza Minnelli, Carol Channing, Barbra Streisand and dozens more!
Several years ago, Ms. Delaney moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue a career in television, film and voice-over. Since moving, she has written and performed sketch comedy as a member of The Groundling’s Sunday Company and has lent her impersonation chops to the development of Dana Carvey’s reality show, “First Impressions”.
Carla wrote and premiered “Voices” to much acclaim in the 2016 Hollywood Fringe Festival. “Voices” won the Festival’s Encore Producer’s Award, extending it’s run 3 times and won Best Solo Performance by a Female. Since then, “Voices” has been chosen as an official selection of the prestigious 24th Annual Los Angeles Women’s Theatre Festival, hosted by Danny Glover and Adilah Barnes.
The idea for Voices came through a diagnosis of Hashimoto’s Syndrome. Carla became interested in the connection between her mind, body and spirit. She was surprised to learn how many women in America are affected by thyroid conditions. Ironically, the thyroid is found in the throat and can directly affect the voice. She couldn’t help but wonder if there was a connection to thyroid deficiency and the way women communicate…or don’t communicate. “It lead me to ask the question: Are women speaking their truth?”
You may recognize Carla’s voice as Carol Brady in that infamous 2015 Snickers Super Bowl ad, Wilma Flintstone, Bart Simpson and Lisa Simpson on The Family Guy, Cleveland Jr.’s girlfriend on The Cleveland Show, Martha Stewart and Amy Adams on Conan, Sarah Palin on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and in theme parks around the country as Lola Bunny and Clarice from Rankin/Bass’s Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Other credits include: 2 Broke Girls, Documentary Now!, Game Shakers, Austin & Ally, The New Looney Tunes Show, The Mike Tyson Mysteries, Big Miracle, The Comeback, House of Lies and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
